The title of psychologist

The title of psychologist, protected by law since 1993, constitutes a legal recognition of the academic and professional competencies of its holders, certified by their registration with the Commission of Psychologists.

The title guarantees that the holder adheres to strict ethical and deontological standards, and that he or she is subject to the control of disciplinary boards in his or her practice. OUR SECTORS

4 main sectors of activity

The official list of the Commission of Psychologists is divided into four key sectors: school, clinical, research, and work and organization. This is intended to help the public easily identify the main area of expertise of registered psychologists while allowing professionals from each sector to elect their representatives within the Commission.

School sector

School psychologists primarily work in educational and school settings, where they support individuals in their learning, in collaboration with teachers and the learner’s support network.

Clinical sector

Clinical psychologists work with diverse populations, from the youngest to the oldest, offering support, therapy, diagnosis, psychoeducation, and prevention.

Research sector

Research psychologists advance knowledge about humans and their behavior. Their research topics and methods vary widely, covering all areas where the exploration of individual or group psychology is necessary.

Work and Organisation sector

Work and organizational psychologists focus on the study and support of human behavior in professional and organizational environments. Their expertise ranges from individual workers to teams, as well as organizations as a whole.

Legislation and deontology

Legal framework and deontology

All psychologists must adhere to a strict code of deontology, ensuring ethical practices, confidentiality, and a focus on the well-being of patients/clients.

This legal and ethical framework aims to protect the public while ensuring high professional standards in various fields such as clinical, school, work, and research psychology.
